## Fixing KDE on OpenSuse

On two computers - one with Intel and the other with AMD/ATI graphics - I have
lost functionality in KDE over the last couple of months. In particular,
compositing was damaged, and the much-loved cover switch wasn't working. This
seemed to have been caused by incremental upgrades to KDE, and I had assumed
that some change required functionality my modest hardware didn't have...

...but when I switched to a better graphics card and had the same issues, I
realised it was software! And the fix is easy:

> cd ~/.kde4/share/config
> rm kwinrc
> Ctrl-Alt-BACKSPACE (not Del) (or logout, or whatever)

When you log back in, you'll have the default settings, and should only need
to enable / select cover switch. If it's almost working, but very slow (as on
my old X60 laptop) disabling the "blur" effect makes everything much more
responsive.

And now I can sit and tab between windows for the next few hours. Zoom.
Zoom. Zoom....
