## Exploding Ecolite Bulb

When we moved to a new flat, and redecorated throughout (almost) we bought
the "energy efficient" bulbs that are like little folded-up flourescent
tubes. The one that is (or rather was) above me as I type at the computer
has been "acting up" - taking a long time to reach maximum brightness.

Anyway, it just exploded. There was a loud "pop" and some of the casing
(not the tube) flew out. The circuit breaker for this part of the house
tripped. I removed the bulb and reset the circuit - everything else seems
OK. The bulb now has a hole in the white body that you can see only if
you look down between the tubes (ie "head on"). I guess it was a
capacitor of some kind.

Anyway, the bulb was an Ecolite 220V 15W screw thread, bought in Chile.
