C++ Concepts Dropped

From: andrew cooke <andrew@...>

The next C++ standard will not contain "Concepts".

I'm not sure what these are (it's something related to types, for what
that's worth), but here's some links I need to follow up at some
point:

http://www.informit.com/guides/content.aspx?g=cplusplus&seqNum=441
http://lambda-the-ultimate.org/node/3518#comment-50071
http://www.artima.com/forums/flat.jsp?forum=270&thread=263251

This is perhaps the definitive reference on concepts (paper from Stroustrup)?:

Stroustrup's Take

"This note explains the reasons for the removal of "concepts," briefly
outlines the controversy and fears that caused the committee to decide
the way it did, gives references for people who would like to explore
"concepts," and points out that (despite enthusiastic rumors to the
contrary) "the sky is not falling" on C++."
